Czech Republic Stem Cell Doctor Joins the Cell Surgical Network® Team


Michálek Rancho Mirage, CA, November 12, 2015 – Professor Michálek, has joined the Cell Surgical Network® (CSN) headquartered in Rancho Mirage and Beverly Hills, CA.  Founded by cosmetic surgeon Mark Berman and urologic surgeon Elliot Lander, CSN has provided licensed technology for adipose derived point of care stem cell therapy procedures to nearly 100 doctors around the world since 2012.  Michálek, who studied pediatric oncology at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, worked clinically for 7 years and spent 3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas in Dallas, focusing on translational research in the field of cell transplantation.  Upon his return to the Czech Republic in 2007, he obtained full Professorship at Masaryk University in Brno, based on his scientific activities. He published more than 150 scientific articles, several textbooks, and has given invited lectures at domestic and international symposia focusing on cell therapy and related fields. Since 2011, he has been a president of the International Consortium for Cell Therapy and Immunotherapy (www.iccti.eu). He is also the CEO and Director of Cellthera, Ltd. (www.cellthera.org) in the southern Heršpice region of the Czech Republic, which focuses on clinical applications of cell therapies as novel tools for the translation of cutting-edge research into the clinical practice setting. Dr. Michálek has the largest published series in the world delineating safety and efficacy of stromal vascular fraction (rich in stem cells) for orthopedic conditions. Dr. Michálek’s work will add to the body of data that CSN has collected on safety and efficacy of autologous adipose derived cell therapy.
