What the Cell Intro

The cell is the most basic functional and structural element in the human body. Individual cells carry out unique jobs throughout the body, from separating charges to form an electric potential allowing neurons to communicate and the heart to beat regularly, to identifying foreign antibodies, recognizing, remembering and destroying them, cells work in fantastic ways on their own. Combine them in to large task forces and suddenly you have tissues like muscle, nerve, and skin, that work in an elaborate orchestrated fashion. Trillions of cells, working seamlessly together, make up the human body. It’s truly amazing they work as harmoniously as they do.

When a number of cells begin to malfunction, pain is generated. Inflammation occurs. The immune system races to aid the laggard cells with two main forms of support: white blood cells (WBCs) and stem cells. WBCs are like an army. They can fight off a foreign invasion, destroying viruses or bacteria that may have infiltrated your system. They can wipe out any cells that have been infected and any cell that’s malfunctioning and taxing your system near death (apoptotic) can be removed. WBCs replace these apoptotic cells with scar tissue.

Conversely, injury can be met with stem cells. Stem cells are found throughout your body and can regenerate damaged tissue and differentiate into functional tissue. Instead of repairing an injury with scar tissue, stem cells can restore the condition to new.

Medicine, both pharmaceutical and surgical, has largely been focused on ridding patients of disease, cutting away the injury, and excising the foreign invaders. These tactics can prove successful, especially in younger patients, who recover much more easily than elder ones. But most injury occurs with age, as our bodies wear down. Common medical intervention often results in large amounts of scar tissue, which limits the function of the original tissue, since scar tissue is much like duct tape: a suitable short-term solution, but incapable of doing more than just holding things together.

It’s with the understanding of stem cells and the desire to restore original tissue function, that physicians and scientists have sought the answer to the stem cell revolution. How can we achieve original function, with like tissue, without pharmaceutical products or invasive surgical procedures?

The answers lie right underneath our skin. They are cells that have been with us since the beginning of human life and they hold the key to the rest of our lives. Stem cells.

What does it take to access these cells? Big Pharma and the FDA would like to do whatever they can to prevent you from finding out. “There’s no science!” “It’s unproven!” “Snake oil!” “Bad actors!” The lines and reports are always the same and neglect the abundance of publications that have come from both the laboratory and the clinic advancing this new field of medicine. The data and science are both robust but have been met with fierce opposition.

We look forward to discussing the science, the opposition, the corruption, and the advancement of medicine that should hopefully allow us all to live healthier lives.
